If someone hits you and then runs, this will help you have documentation of the events as they happen. The set up is pretty simple. You add the app on your phone and it walks you through what you need to do. It comes with a memory card and it has an easy to use touch screen. It also comes with a mount which is a breeze to set up. The video is clear and would be really helpful when dealing with your insurance company. This works great day and night and gives you piece of mind when traveling.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone knows the importance of a dash cam, why? too many careless drivers out there. The picture quality on the NEXTBASE 522GW DASH CAM is simply Amazing. The camera is really easy to install, very compact and gets the job done. Won't attract too much attention. With so many aggressive drivers out there, this gives me some peace of mind knowing everything will be recorded in the event of an accident. The quality of the video is excellent! The recordings are smooth and high quality. It does not take up a lot of space . At night the quality of the video is still clear. recommend to purchase.

I'm a bit of a scared driver so I like to be safe and wanted proof just incase something does happen. This cam is easy to set up and has a super clear resolution and just my look better than my cellphones video and camera. There was a small blind spot I'm thinking because of where the cam is supposed to set at?? The Alexa option is pointless you can't tell her to record. Alexa is almost on everything so she is pointless on this cam. Overall even if you don't know much about dashcam (there is the manual) if cam is still very easy to use and install.

The NextBase 522GW is easy to install and operate. the web site has downloadable software if you desire. a usb cable is included as is a 12v power connector. the unit plugs into the cigarette lighter socket . An optional fuse box connection is available if desired. The only thing lacking was a micro SD memory card. that must be purchased separately. the manual indicates the specification (U3) and the web site has one available to order. The manual highly suggests a NextBase brand memory card for pest performance.

Great investment for scenic routes or if you happen to get in a car crash it even has a G force feature if that tells you the force of impact in a crash. However, the app is very persnickety! I have yet to be able to download video from the app I normally have to hardwire the camera to my computer to download the video. If the app was as amazing as the camera this would be an awesome dashboard camera! The camera comes with a ton of features love the GPS I love the fact that you can change it to where it shows you your speed. Video quality is awesome!

The build quality is great and the features in this model are up to date and everything we would need. The video quality is full HD unlike some dash cams available and I could easily transfer this to my PC for safe keeping. The video for the screen quality is clear even at night time. Overall a very good quality product that serves its purpose perfectly. We would have no issues recommending this to our friends and family and it gives a good feeling knowing that the dash cam will do what it is meant to and provide good quality video footage should we require it.

I have used many dashcams before, from cheap to expensive. All have their own quirks and some perform much better than others, but I always felt like most, if not all, were lacking in video quality and overall options. NXTBASE not only is super easy to install, it has an incredibly user friendly interface so I can select my options with just a touch of the screen. I find the video quality to be really on par with some of the most expensive cams I have used and I love the feature to connect to an app on my phone. The bonus of having the option to use Alexa voice cam just seals the deal for me.

The 522GW includes a couple new features that are worth the upgrade, like the Emergency SOS Response and Alexa built-in. It also features 1440p HD recording with a polarizing lens. Thanks to the built-in Alexa, I can play music, place calls, or get directions without removing my hands from the wheel or my eyes from the road. Dash cams allow you to have footage that can provide proof in the unfortunate event of a traffic accident, but these added features make the dash cam useful in other ways. The installation is easy, and the recordings are a good resolution.

what is the maximum capacity of SD card it will take please? I have 128 and 256.

Thanks for your question Brian. It is essential that a quality branded Class 10 or U3 type Micro SD card is used with this Dash Cam due to the very large data rate generated by high resolution recording. a 16GB card will store the last 1.5 hours of driving footage, so the larger you have, the better, up to 128GB is permitted. Can the camera be controlled to invert the picture, so I can mount at the bottom of the windscreen and not the top please.

Thanks for your a great question Brian. You want the camera as close to the centerline of the car as possible for maximum coverage to both sides. Be sure to mount your camera on an area of the windscreen reached by the wipers, or wet weather incidents will be recorded only as a wet blur. There are also laws governing obstruction of the driver’s view. The rule of thumb is, as unobtrusive a location as possible. This camera does not have an invert function so it could prove challenging to position. Have a chat with your local store to see if they have other options available.
