A pleasant surprise when upgrading from my previous wifi security system
I have been looking to upgrade from my EUFY 2K kit for a while now and was recently introduced to Swann’s All Secure 2K wireless system by a friend. I was initially impressed with the fact that he could live view active events from all cameras on a monitor in his office and that he did not have to bring his cameras inside to recharge them (something I am always slack at doing) due to the systems always charged switchable battery solution.
In the end I decided to purchase one for myself and was pleasantly surprised that a 4K version was available so snapped one up from here.
Now I am only 2 weeks in with this kit so plenty more to discover and tweak but for now I felt I should relay the key elements that have stood out the most, especially coming from previously owning WiFi cameras and experiencing some of the limitations that historically come with these types of devices.
Out of the box connectivity of cameras to the hub was immediate as soon as the batteries were inserted and I once I had run through the setup wizard and connected the hub wirelessly to my router the final step of connecting to the Swann app took no time at all.
The next part of the process was the one I was most nervous about as my previous system could never give me the range I needed from camera to Hub but I must say Swann’s dedicated WiFi connection definitely delivered, allowing me to position cameras as far away as 20 metres in one case without affecting response time and recording quality.
I have played around with both the traditional PIR/Motion detection and AI Person detection, currently settling for my main front of house cam on PIR to capture as much activity as possible and the rest of my cameras on AI Person to eliminate endless videos of my dogs running wild in the back yard. At this stage I don’t have a full handle on battery life but based on current usage I predict I will get per charge around 2 months on my PIR cam (averaging around 130+ recordings a day) and probably 6 month on my other cams, but hey what does it matter when it takes seconds to switch out the additional rotational battery and bring the cameras back to full charge.
Video quality is great, sensor lights bring full colour to the traditional black & white night vision and help light up the place when navigating around my property at night, although I had to google how to schedule these by camera and day (was initially a bit confused with all the available options but now pleased to realise I have so much more control over my system)
However what has impressed me the most is the fact that this system does go into the traditional timed sleep mode that all other battery cameras seem to suffer from, it appears to continue to record for as long as activity is going on in front of the camera and this is huge as my previous system on occasion had missed crucial visual evidence while powering down even though activity was still happening.
All in all it feels like I have stumbled across a hidden gem in the confusing world of wire free security solutions and I hope my early excitement maintains, however I do have some advice for Swann, please don’t plague what feels like a winning system with endless software updates, that’s one of the key reasons I moved on from my old system (you know, if it isn’t broke…)

All the Bells & Whistles
The recorder box has an entire Terabyte of storage inside, I've been recording for 3 weeks and it has barely filled the hard drive. A word to the wise... check what you're getting from other brands, usually it is far less storage or they charge you for cloud.
The cameras work really well, I love them & so does my hubby. The colour night vision is awesome and they detect really well whenever someone is walking up my drive. Setup was also painless and all the cameras magically appeared on the screen as soon as I plugged the batteries in.

Easy To Install & Great Clarity
I have now had the AllSecure4K+ from Swann for close to a month. It was super easy to install straight out of the box. My wife and I are 100% satisfied by our purchase and love it how we can see what's going on at our home from anywhere we go.
