Easy and Versatile
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have loved drinking coffee my whole life however, I had never owned or operated a coffee making machine and so, it was with some trepidation that I opened and set up my Primadonna Soul Coffee Machine.
I found the instructions straight forward and easy to follow for the set up and, living in a one bedroom apartment with a small kitchen, I was pleased that the machine is so compact and didn't take up too much space on my limited bench space.
Once set up, coffee making is literally child's play. The display provides numerous options for your style of coffee and you also have the ability to vary the strength (aroma) of your coffee and the size. I was also pleased to see that everything is so easily adjusted to allow for the tallest or smallest of cups/mugs to be used. I have been experimenting with the various choices and have also used the milk only option to provide hot milk for drinking chocolate.
The machine tells you when to refill milk, beans and water as well as an alert when the grouts need to be emptied. Cleaning is painless too as all components are safe in the dishwasher. This machine couldn't be simpler to use and more importantly, the coffee is great. Friends that have visited me who, in the past, have been offered only to instant coffee are over the moon with my new acquisition too and extremely impressed by my new barista talents.

Overall a great machine
Overall a great machine, I have had it for 18 months and made over 3000 coffees,
Pros:
Makes consistently good coffee,
Quick to use.
Easy to clean.
Cons: (Things I would improve) -
I can't top up the cup with milk, If milk is the last thing added I would like to be able to add extra milk, same as
they allow with water.
My travel mug does not fit under the spout, so I have to make my coffee in a separate cup and transfer it when going to work in the morning, I also can't make extra large quantities, so I end up having to make 2 cups and transfer them, There are a lot of big cups out there now, surely the designers can take a trip to their camping store, pick the biggest mug and make sure that fits, not everyone uses a tea cup.
I would also like the ability to top up the water tank the same as the milk rather than having to remove the whole tank. this would let me top it up while it is brewing rather than being a separate thing.
The water filter demands changing after a very small number of litres of water I think it was 10 litres, surely it can do more than that? I have told my machine it has no filter, and it still works fine,
When making a cup they have the option to stop or cancel, I think this could be clearer as to what each one does, they have a whole screen available an extra word for clarity would be easy, eg Stop water, Cancel brew, given the spare screen real estate they could afford an extra word or two so there is no confusion. Likewise, when cleaning the milk and shutting down, this works smoothly enough but the screen could update to show me the instructions I have queued and the current step rather showing the final step and me having to guess where it is up to.
My wife loves turning things off at the wall, when turning back on there is an annoying 3-5 second power on wait before I can hit the machines on button (after which it starts it's flush/heating startup), I would like to turn on at the wall then press the on button immediately or have the option to auto turn on at power restore.
The app kind of sucked, was difficult to get connected, then didn't really add much value.
