Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Sound The JBL Flip Essential 2 is a really good Bluetooth speaker. I like that it's not that big and still has a great rich sound. The sound is clear and pleasant to listen to. Operation is easy and self-explanatory, simple. I like the size. It fits in a normal handbag or in the drinks pocket on the side of a backpack. It doesn't bother me that the speaker can't be used as a power battery. The usage time is sufficient for my day in the office and then cooking at home. I do not need more. I can really recommend the JBL Flip Essential 2.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not that sound that I expected from JBL I was really looking forward to the sound box. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed. The tube looks very high-quality, which is also noticeable in the weight. The bass membranes that can be felt on the left and right indicate rich bass and the length and weight also suggest top sound. Unfortunately, this is not the case, the sound is very pale and the bass is almost non-existent. I don't know why the bass is so flat and clacking, but there is a clear reason for the sound itself, because only one small speaker is installed. It has to be said that the sound is better than that of a mobile phone and the tube is indestructible, neither water nor dust can harm us. The tube also absorbs shocks very well

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smaller Speaker with Big Sound! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was absolutely shocked with the sound that comes from this speaker. One of my requirements for all of my audio devices is that it has to have a lot of bass; and it definitely has the sound. The size is also a big plus for me since I like to keep my speaker with me when I travel, it fits not only in my backpack but it also fits in my purse. We do a lot of traveling as well as camping so having a speaker that is rechargeable and IPX7 waterproof is going to be super handy. All in all I am 100% pleased with the Flip Essential 2 speaker and I have already been recommending it to my family and friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great clean sound Just bought a selection of JBL portable speakers to compare them, and the Flip Essential 2 easily has the best price to performance ratio. It has a balanced sound, and doesn't distort itself by thumping too hard trying to produce sub-bass.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Same speaker worse battery [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The flip essential 2 is not essential. I was hoping to see some type of improvement on this item, being it looked like a newer different model of the Flip 5. It was not. Mostly, all the functionality and performance were the same. The one thing that was worse is the battery life. On the box, it states 10 hours of performance but at what performance level. I had the essential 2 connected via Bluetooth and at 75% volume for around 3 hours, and it died. Talk about a party foul. Fortunately, I had a power outlet close by. Not an experience I would want again nor product I would take with me to an long event. After all that, I will say that the performance of this speaker is awesome. Great sound and Bluetooth range for a minimumal amount of time.

Small size makes it easy to take anywhere, including your luggage, but it's got plenty of output to fill a room with excellent audio. I compared the Essential 2 model to the Flip 4 I already had and honestly, I couldn't tell the difference. The Essential 2 drops a couple of "less than commonly used" features, but keeps all the important functions and full sound capabilities. If the extras don't appeal to you, save a few bucks and go for the Essential 2, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size I am really happy with this speaker.The perfect size to fit into my hand and move rooms with or take into the garden.Good quality sound and plenty of volume.Am using it more than I thought I would.I had a thought the other day,that this is an modern day equivalent of my old red ghetto blaster,I used to take everywhere with me when I was a kid in the 80s,although Im not making up dance routines and rapps anymore and taping the charts on a Sunday with my friends.I can take it next to my bed for sleep music as the light is at the back.I love the JBL charge,but the light on the top kept me awake with that.

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, JBL Flip Essential 2 does not feature connectivity software to allow it to connect with a second speaker and play your audio from the same phone. Why does JBL flip essential 1 and 2 doesn’t have an app to update firmware or at least some sort of equalizator?
