Rated 1 out of 5 by from Caused a reaction I have used the Skin Recovery Cream that this product replaced for quite sometime with great success. I was hopeful this would be a suitable replacement, although I was displeased that I was now paying the same for less volume and I hate the pump style package that ensures you'll never get all of your product without having to cut it open. All that said, none of that mattered because within a day of making the switch I started to experience redness, peeling, and stinging! I let my skin calm down and tried again in case it was a fluke - nope! The second time was worse. Needless to say, Avene has lost my business. Sad, as I really did love the Skin Recovery Cream.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same as the original skin recovery cream I have struggled with my skin for years. I have rosacea, sensitive skin, and acne, as well as aging concerns. When I found the Avene Skin Recovery Cream, it was the best product I had ever used on my face. Not sure why they discontinued it, but I am not pleased. I ordered this Tolerance Skin Recovery Cream, hoping to have similar results - wrong. Within the first week of use, my skin broke out terribly. I have pimples where I never had them before on my face and they won't go away. My rosacea also flared up on my cheeks. I'm really displeased with this product and Avene has likely lost me as a customer after this change. For lovers of the original Skin Recovery Cream - this is not comparable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Folliculitis-prone Skin I tried Avene because I have folliculitis-prone skin. Many ingredients trigger a flare up for me and I’m always nervous to try new. So I used the intensive repair creme, and initially my skin felt and looked great, however after 1 week of use once/day, my skin became incredibly dry. I also used the cream along with the water spray. I believe both contributed to my skin being stripped of all moisture. My face was so dry and uncomfortable, it was also visibly peeling around my mouth and chin. After I stopped using the products, after about 4 days my skin went back to normal. I really wanted to love the products and the brand but unfortunately my skin did not agree.

I heard all the great reviews about how moisturizing and gentle their products are. I’m not sure if i’m allergic to an ingredient but it dried my skin out and I bought the kit so confused, if anything i thought it would be too moisturizing, it’s not. It sit on the skin with a tack feeling then when it dries it’s like you put nothing on your face and my face feels tight and dry so weird I have never had this happen with other creams, I will stick to cerave

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Why did you replace the skin recovery cream with this? I have used the skin recovery cream for over two years after a major skin freak out. The texture of the prior dream was light, but effective and almost acted like a primer under my make up.it was discontinued so I tried this cream which is the replacement. Immediately I noticed the texture was thicker, almost pasty, and harder the spread. It felt heavier and I noticed pilling as I applied my makeup and it seemed to magnify my pores. For reference, I am 66, used to have combo skin, but it is now dry and sensitive. I have used several Avene products over the last couple of years, but this one is a disappointment. I see they have added beeswax, so maybe that is responsible for the thick texture and pilling. I also had a few pimples after using. Sorry, Avene, but this change was a fail.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible I purchased this product since they promoted it as a “replacement” for the extreme cream that they discontinued. Mind you, the extreme line products were the only moisturizers I’ve been able to use on my face because of struggles with rosacea and dermatitis. I was heartbroken when I saw they discontinued the line, but had high hopes for the tolerance control cream. After applying it on my face before bed, I woke up with tiny white heads and hot, blotchy skin that has yet to calm down even hours after washing and applying cold compresses. I really wish this company would bring back their extreme line - I know several others who had success with the extreme cream but found this new tolerance control line to be irritating. Why mess with something good? That’s a surefire way to lose one-faithful customers.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I’ve used the old formula for 2 years, only moisturizer that wouldn’t cause any irritation, provided hydration, only moisturizer that I could use with an acne medicine (differ gel)and didn’t have to worry about over-dryness. This new formula does the opposite. It’s harsh! It doesn’t provide any hydration even without using any acne medicine. My face has been so dry, the formula doesn’t absorb at all. It stays on top of my skin, it doesn’t soothe. It doesn’t help irritation or redness. It’s a disappointment!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from NOT for sensitive skin I purchased this as a replacement for Avene's Skin Recovery Cream, and I am very disappointed. I have sensitive skin, and although the discontinued Skin Recovery Cream worked really well for me, this new product was horrible. It was fine the first day but after a few days, I started to have red, irritated skin. I can't believe Avene is also discontinuing their Tolerance Extreme emulsion and cream too. Now Avene doesn't offer any products that work for me.
