Rated 2 out of 5 by from Style over substance I love the look and feel of these mills, but tbh it is style over substance. I am a big fan of ‘JJ’ but have pondered on whether to send back. The gradient on the grinder is pretty non existent, hard to tell the difference, and the first salt I used which was rock salt was such a fine powder it clogged around the top and when you picked up the mill salt would go everywhere. I change to sea salt and it was a little better, but after a couple of days of use the grinder just dumps out salt dust in one hit. I have lots of ‘JJ’ products that I love, but not this one.

Fed up of buying salt and pepper mills than ultimately just don’t work! Finally a great idea that gives you the look and shape of a traditional mill but way way better! Best of all no more mess either. The salt and pepper mills have a great feel to them, and very easy to grip and use. Highly recommended and another excellent quality product from J&J.

I find that there is a lot of salt comes out when you grind it, but this is maybe because of the setting or the salt I have in the mill. The pepper I have no trouble with it works very well. I would certainly buy again..

However, the lighter grinder has already been tomato splashed and due to the rubberised finish it’s stained. These things are supposed to be used though…

The fact nothing is left on the side after the mills are used keeps work surfaces and table tops clean. Being able to adjust the coarseness is also a good feature. Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t last and often over salts Salt often sits in the top resulting on excess amounts coming out. The threaded bar that holds the top on has also sheared off and Joseph Joseph don’t have spare or sell individually so if I wanted to replace I would have to buy a pair again. I will not be buying again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Faulty salt mill so disappointing Loved these and have used them for about three years but the salt mill has broken after I tried to clean it as the top will nit screw back on I have cleaned it regularly with no problem before Pepper mill is fine but it seems I cannot replace just the salt mill
