Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great watch - perfect for hiking Great watch. I was weighing up between the forerunner 965 and Fenix 7 pro as the Fenix was on sale making the price point of the two very similar. It is definitely more rugged than the forerunner but I personally like as the screen doesn’t scratch as easily. I went on a hike recently and downloaded the trail map off AllTrails onto my watch. The watch gave directions such as how far till the next turn, which direction to turn and it beeped if I went too far off the trail. I had no service during most of the hike so it’s super handy to have the directions on your watch and to get a full health performance review at the end. The torch is also another hand feature that I wasn’t expecting to use as much as I do. It’s bright enough to light up the ground enough to see where you’re walking when it’s dark out. The battery life is really good. Definitely recommend

The GPS works perfectly, the battery lasts for days, and the preloaded maps make outdoor runs and hikes easy. I really like the screen—clear and easy to read, even compared to newer models. It’s tough, comfortable, and the solar charging is a nice touch. Definitely worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than Apple Watch Fantastic device. Transitioned from an Apple Watch as I became more active. The battery life is the biggest positive as it lasts more than a week. The bevelled edges protect the screen from bumps which is great for an active person. As a data driven person it has helped me train more efficiently and get the recovery I need. Despite not having that ecosystem with Apple it still does everything well. Small downside is the Garmin pay as not many cards or places support Garmin Pay. But I never used PayWave on my Apple Watch so makes no difference. Highly reccomend for someone into their sports or wanting to begin training. I got this on sale and it was a similar price to the Forerunner 965 The Forerunner line is also a good option and does everything a Fenix can do. I chose the Fenix as it is more robust and has a longer battery life. The solar powered function is said to increase battery life by 20ish hours but I have seen no effect (I’m mostly in the office) but it would come in handy during multi day hikes.
