I fall in love with this watch
thing that I like:
- I don't have to keep charging this watch!!!!
- with the app I am able to set up activities, chores, alarms, and more anytime.
- I have a Garmin for myself, and with the app we check each other daily steps and we can do our weekly steps challenge
thing that I like the most:
- the date, I like keep tracking my daughter sleeping time. If the kids do not sleep well, you will see next day.
Things that this watch need:
- activity option like running or swimming. (distance) because kids do not need only count steps, they like to know for how long they run. I set up my watch when I go jogging with my daughter but will be nice that she has her own date.

Good but missing key features
I go this for my daughter for her birthday and it is great! Set up was easy and my daughter loves it! The only thing I would change about it is that it doesn't allow me to track my daughter. I would love to see a safety feature that would allow me to find her if she were ever lost. I knew when I bought it that it did not have this feature because the size is excellent for a child's arm and all the watches I found that allowed this feature were not brands I trusted. Still this is great for building confidence in my little one as she meets her goals and gets rewarded.

Attempted to purchase a Garmin VivoFit Jr for my daughter 3 separate times, two VivoFit Jr 2 and one VivoFit Jr 3. Each time the Unlock Code was not included in the box so I could not register any of them, rendering them useless. Contacted Garmin Support “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do for you, recommend returning the watch and ordering another one.” I did that 3 times, same result. Our family owns 4 Garmin watches already, which makes it’s even harder to explain to an 8 yr old why her watch won’t work like her older sisters. I expected more from Garmin.

Expected Garmin Quality
I bought this for my 6yr old daughter and it is very nicely made. It is in line with the quality you expect from Garmin. The only thing this watch is lacking is the user interface. The one button design needs improvement. The available data is far less than the data available from other brands of kid fitness watches. The “feature” to reach an activity goal is rewarded with a “coin” which allows the user to move a spot on the app game board is gimmicky. I recommend this for the quality you expect from Garmin but the user experience is really lacking.

Great watch
I bought this watch for my 6 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. She uses it for everything. She tracks her steps and active time, it’s her alarm clock in the morning, her reminder for her chores, and her timer for all sorts of different activities throughout the day. I like that there are pictures instead of just words for the chores, alarms, and timers this really comes in handy with littles ones just learning to read.

Like rewards and better than vetch not enough tech
Picked this up because we really wanted sleep and activity tracking for our daughter. I really wanted one that would give me a lot more insight but that doesn’t exist for kids by name brands yet, aside from Fitbit and I hear their sleep tracking requires 30 minutes of still time before it starts- not happening. My daughter started running and climbing at 10 mos old. She hasn’t sat willingly since. I really wish it had more advanced features or even tracked naps… at 2.5 she ran an 8.5 minute mile- thanks to my Dad’s Garmin we know. This is an awesome tool for most parents I’m sure. We have a child with behavioral and sleep issues and unusual physical capabilities and want more information. I’d put an Apple Watch on her but I know it’s too much of a toy for her. Please please please make a more advanced kids watch- or bands that are compatible with more advanced watches…

Could be sooo much better!
Screen is very small, and the standard brightness of screen makes it almost impossible to read unless you turn on the backlight. No way to adjust screen brightness. This is a big negative, and makes it hard to read, particularly when indoors.
Does have some cool features, like when hitting step and activity goals, they get to play a little adventure game on your paired phone.
