Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible 4K Soon To Be Extinct Camcorder! Incredible 4K camcorder that does everything you need for recording videos, live streaming, and snapping photos. I bought this camcorder for live streaming, and it’s a game changer compared to my previous Sony ZV-1F point-and-shoot. To all the Millennials and Gen Zers reading this—camcorders are still super cool! I run an aviation live stream on YouTube at Christchurch Airport, New Zealand, and this camera has elevated my streams tenfold. Incredibly happy with my purchase! Pros: Incredible 4K video quality. 24x Optical Zoom is next level. If you have the extra zoom options on, it then snaps into digital zoom (cropped video image). Clean and crisp photos (even though I won’t be using it much for photos). Sensational 5.1 surround sound microphone with a huge dynamic range; it picks up vocals perfectly, and for my live streams, it captures live plane audio excellently. (I do wish it came with a windscreen for the built-in microphone to reduce wind noise.) Clean 4K HDMI output for live streaming, once all viewfinder screen overlays are turned off. Easy-to-use zoom toggle located on top of the camera. Easy-to-see viewfinder, even in direct sunlight. Great speaker for media playback on the camera. Super secure strap for handheld mode. Awesome built-in gimbal for super smooth footage (tested while walking, not while running). Fantastic depth-of-field in both video and photo modes. Live Streaming: This Panasonic camcorder is not compatible with direct streaming, meaning it’s not plug-and-play via USB. You’ll need to purchase a capture card. Friendly reminder: it’s not 4K output for live streaming (which I knew)—it’s 1080p output. You can record in 4K, but it will output at 1080p or 720p, depending on your capture card. I do love that you can live stream using the provided HDMI cable without needing to be in record mode, allowing you to power the camera with the included power cable without worrying about the battery overheating. Battery Life (personal findings): 4K Video: 1 hour of recording 1080p Video: 2 to 2.5 hours of recording Both are dependent on how many times you stop and start recording. Minor Cons: No direct streaming compatibility - So buy a capture card. Short power cable—recommend buying a longer one. Due to the age of the camera, it uses micro-USB to USB-A.
