Good but I still prefer the older models
I've always appreciated the quality of Fisher & Paykel but I feel like these more modern appliances are a bit over the top. The 'safety' features on this with the automatic lid lock are a tad annoying. I'm used to just lifting the lid and throwing in the occasional extra / forgotten item. I also think the remote operating capabilities is a complete waste of the manufacturer's time & energy (and probably adds to the cost unnecessarily). I don't know who wants to do their washing when they're not home, and how would you do that anyway? Is there a robot at home putting in the washing powder and closing the lid?! :-) Maybe other clients appreciate it but this is just my two cents worth.

No feet in air, head in tub when retrieving items!
Looking for small outer with largish inner, bottom of tub must be reachable. Achieved this with this machine. Word of caution do not leave husband alone to do washing without written instructions. One heavy towel with a heap of his smalls while I was interstate nearly caused an over-the-phone meltdown. Apart from a small problem with knotting on cords and straps this is a great machine. Compact and nice to look at as well. It handles a large load and washes evenly. We have spa and sauna ergo use heaps of towels, distribute them evenly and do not overcrowd it should work well. I have also fitted 2 sets of sheets, with pillowcases and no problems.

Very pleased with my purchase
I am extremely happy with this Washing Machine. It has plenty of different cycles to choose from and you can make adjustments to them in order to suit your requirements. The self leveling feature is rock solid and the machine is nice and quiet. The WiFi capability is quite good and the display is easy to read and navigate. All the information is there at a glance including the remaining time to the completion of the wash cycle.
My old Fisher & Paykel that this machine replaced was still operating but I just thought I would update. Very happy I did.
Based on the performance of this machine to date, I would certainly recommend it.

Love this machine!
I'm almost glad our other washing machine blew up (after a pipe burst and water got in). This one is amazing! Gone is the central spinner - it's like a front loader, but on top. It washes the clothes beautifully and is gentle. It does take longer, but there is a quick option if you need, and I don't notice a difference in cleaning quality. If there was one drawback it's that the lid is heavy so make sure it's fully open otherwise it will fall on you.

Great machine but dumb locking start to finish
Great machine but locked lid from start to finish??
Come on Fisher and Paykel this is so So dumb. Previous machines only locked with the spin cycle.
Why are us customers treated with such stupidity and take away our basic right of checking if the water is high enough if you need to increase the level if you’re working manual water level. Also, we want to be able to check how free The washing is
Thank goodness a bit of brain power and googling and a 50c magnet solves the problem ha ha ha
With a magnet I now I have an old style machine I’m happy
I’m sure I won’t fall in and drown ha ha

MY NEW F & P 8kg Top Loader Washing Machine!
I love my new F & P 8kg washing machine, it's efficient, has TWO filters, not just one which has been great for the number of sheets/towels I do regularly and the filters are easy to remove and clean. I can easily fit a Q/S Doona in there and have it wash properly! (No tide lines!) Have also washed cushions which have come out like new! The quick wash is great for everyday items. There are also multiple other wash cycle choices for you to use. I allow my machine to dry out and then keep a cover over the machine to protect it and keep it always looking new!

Unhappy and broke from
Waste of money
I bought this machine 3 months ago and it is the worst thing I could have done. I had a F&P 10kg which was fantastic however I moved and could not fit into new space. This machine was great for the space but is terrible on the clothes. Fluff does not filter properly so it is all over your clothes and simply does not wash clothes very well. A waste of money that I now do not have to replace this washing machine

Does the F & P washing machine WL8058G1 have a soak function?
Thanks for your question Mike. Yes, we can confirm this model has a Soak function as a wash modifier. It will perform a one hour soak sequence in the middle of the wash phase, agitating periodically every minute to help remove loosened dirt and stains. Hope this helps!
