Rated 3 out of 5 by from First impression I've only tried it once so far. Disappointed that there wasn't a big warning on the bowl that whatever you put on it to make it shiny in production can come off looking like the metal's melted into your mix! I was making royal icing for Xmas cookies and had to throw out the whole batch, then run to the store & spend $15 for pre-made that didn't taste as good, because I didn't know this was "common" and didn't have time to make more after I spent 40 minutes researching and another 45 minutes scrubbing my knuckles raw with bar keepers friend, and a baking soda paste to get it clean. Maybe my opinion will change when I can use it again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oily Residue Have loved the flex edge beater; however, the last month or so there is an oily residue that shows up on the beater, usually a few days after it's washed. I store it in my bowl with the other beaters and at first though it was the actual mixer leaking onto the beater. So I sat it on the counter and the residue is still there. I can wash it to clean it up, but after sitting for a week, the oil is back. Even though I wash it before use, it's very disappointing to think that whatever it is may be leaching into my doughs/batters. I've noticed a few other reviews on here with the same issue so I don't understand why this issue hasn't been addressed and fixed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent mixer I have heard so many good things about this mixer and also my mom has the classic one which is 20 years and still works great. For some reason I am not getting quality mixers I exchanged mine four times before settling on the one I kept. All of them rattle and shake at head of the mixer. Not matter how much I tighten the screw it's still shakes up and down when mixing dough. The one I kept is a little better but still shakes when I mix dough. Also I have to keep tightening it when I use it. But other than the shaking it does mix well. I would think for the price of these mixers they would be better quality. Certainly not the quality from 20yrs ago.

It chips off of the bottom and I have become extremely frustrated with it. after the first one started chipping, I treated the next one with care and it still chipped! One blog of cake bakers were talking about this problem and they all agreed that it isn't just the way the mixer is set up.. several of them had adjusted theirs and it still happened! It also happened at several different points on the beater. Up high and down at the bottom. These bakers were also told that nuts could do it! If nuts knock off the coating then there is a serious problem here! It's a good mixer but they need to figure out how to keep the DELICATE coating on the beater! people are ingesting these coating chips!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from having issues I have had this machine several months and used it a lot for holiday cooking. Initially the beater was hinting the sides. I read the instructions for trouble shooting this problem and adjusted the screw. Well it never seemed right. For Christmas I received the glass bowl which I thought was universal for this model. But I can't seem to get it adjusted. I have gone from the most tighten to the most loose adjust a little bit each time. but still it seems the bowl is sitting in the wrong spot.. I had my last one for 10 years and never had issues. I have since had the old kitchen repaired and it works wonderful. Can't say the same for the newer one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No spatula needed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Normally when we use our mixer we need a spatula to make sure things mix properly and don’t stick to the edges. At first I thought this would help clean the bowl. My initial reaction was disappointment until I realized I misunderstood how this worked. It evenly removes ingredients from the bowls edges by scraping or sweeping them with a silicone fin. Then the momentum from the mixer spinning seems to evenly distribute the mix that would have otherwise needed a secondary spatula to fold in those lost ingredients. It’s great. Don’t expect it to squeegee things clean. It will evenly mix things for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My partner in baking!!! I get amazing results with my KitchenAid Artisan mixer! It's my best friend when I prepare any recipe using it! The included 6-Wire Whisk attachment beats my egg whites to fluffy perfection! Coated Dough Hook amazing for kneading my homemade bread. Today I used the Coated Flat Beater. I made a Strawberry pie and it gently folded the fresh strawberries into the batter without making them mushy. Controlling the speed is simple. This machine makes baking quick, easy and fun! Easy to clean too! Love Love Love my Mixer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A surprising surprise I was given this mixer for a Christmas present by my partner. I was more than a little taken aback, to be honest. I have made my own bread and cookies for decades and I LIKE hand-mixing things with a trusty wooden spoon. A mixer seemed to me something that just loaded up the dishwasher with too many bits and pieces. I LOVE this mixer. It makes the most amazing bread dough, cakes, and cookies. I am using it almost daily and really enjoying it. It is strong, quiet and does a superb job. Not too many bits and pieces either. Just perfect.
