Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stop the noise! I love all my LG products except this one. I guess it does the job but so do many others. The constant chiming is excessive and too loud. It isn't mentioned anywhere when you buy it and it can't be turned off. It chimes when you start to cook and every 60 seconds when it has finished, until you open the door. First thing in the morning or late at night you basically have to babysit the microwave and manually stop the cook process before the chiming starts unless you want the kids to be woken up. It isn't a beep its a song and its tacky and loud! We bought a microwave two days ago for our daughter, we got the Panasonic, easy to operate and one beep when it finishes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good and easy to use, but some issues [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After reading lots of reviews and investigating the specifications, we decided to purchase this LG microwave. We initially got one with a fault, which was eventually replaced. We are now generally happy with the microwave. It is easy to use and cooks well. However, it should be noted it has no timer, and to change the clock, you have to turn it off at the powerpoint first. Not that easy when it's in a specially built cabinet above the bench top. This information was not in the readily accessible specifications, nor the fact that it is preferable to have it in an open space on the bench top

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I too was suckered by the “10 Year Warranty” Bought this back in 2019 and worked great until just out of warranty. Then the Magnatron stopped working. Thankfully it was replaced under warranty (with much hassle mind you, mainly from the service centre trying to get money out of me even though LG said it was covered for full expenses). Now less than a year and a half later the Magnatron has failed again. Judging from the glow inside the unit it was heating up the Magnatron but not the food. Luckily I saw it before it burnt my house down. Thought the Magnatron was covered for 10 years - turns out it is only for parts, not labour. Might as well buy a different brand microwave than pay the same price for the labour and have it fail again in 2 years.

I was very impressed by the simplification of controls that the LG designers have created - 90% of my usage is via the two controls on the outer door. HOWEVER when we got it home we discovered the absurd ring tone that it makes to notify the end of cycle. The philosophy of simplification, so evident in the control buttons, was totally compromised. A very sophisticated product was ruined by these childish ringtones. To match the philosophy of the door controls, an override is required to change the notification to a simple, one note chime. The absence of a timer is likewise a disappointment

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks good and works well I bought this to replace a really old microwave I had. Such a nice upgrade. I really like the look of it and it heats up my food well and fairly quick. Plays a short tune at the end of cooking which I like. I like the 5 wheels under the plate inside so that bowls and dishes placed inside never tip or are never unbalanced. It goes into a "cooling cycle" at the end of every session which I don't understand. I can still use it and interrupt the cooling session any time (lasts for maybe 10-20 seconds - although I only ever use the microwave for 2 minute stints, so I don't know if the cooling session would last longer for longer cooking times), but I don't understand why it needs to do this and it uses extra power to do it. That's the only annoying or confusing thing about it. I've never seen any other microwave do this (but maybe it's common nowadays) which is the only reason for the 4 star versus 5.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great microwave until it rusts Purchased this microwave in 2018 and noticed that within approx 4 years the rust inside at the back was beginning to appear - within 6 months the rust is extreme and according to consumer recommendations on microwave safety - a rusty microwave should be replaced immediately. This means having to repurchase a microwave within 5 years. That's terrible for a brand such as LG. This is not an isolated incident as we know that this appears to be an issue with the model from other parties stating the same problems between 4-6 years. Be warned - the 10 year warranty mark on the front of these machines only applies to the Magnetron and not to the entire microwave. Very disappointed that consumers have to landfill such items within this time frame.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently purchased the LG microwave, after our one stopped working (our old one was a different brand). I cannot fault this microwave. It heats food evenly, the plates/bowls don't come out super hot which makes removing the dishes easier. The microwave looks so sleek and stylish, and is super easy to clean inside and out. It is quiet when running. The light on the inside actually enables you to see the food as it is cooking. The cherry on top, is that when it is done, rather than a blaring "BEEP BEEP" noise, it has a little melody it plays. This has converted me to an LG customer, now I just need to convert over my fridge.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Minor glitches but is OK [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the microwave oven for vegetable cooking and reheating. I use it daily. The door has to be slammed shut or you get a error message. It would be nice to edit the finish cooking alarm. I would like it to beep once, then not annoy me again, this alarm continues to beep every minute for five minutes. It cooks very well, even heat across the plate, it is big inside, the sensor cook has been reliable. If you can put up with the minor glitches this is a good oven. I do think it is time for ovens to have screens. To still use one reading codes or with the user manual in your hand must be long overdue.
