Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely astonishing sound quality The depth of sound, stage and presence of these little marvels is utterly astonishing ! The sound clarity is amazing. I upgraded from the XM4 as they were beginning to fail. I thought that they were the ducks guts, but the XM5, Wow ! They are close to my XM4 overears, maybe better. The ANC is good (better than XM4 bud) but not quite as effective as overears, but pretty impressive none the less. Comfortable, secure ear fit and simple setup (on a Samsung device anyway), and as with its predecessor, LDAC is killer. You need to set that in your phones settings to access, otherwise it's the standard AAC codec. Bravo Sony. Another cracker đź‘Ť

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Theyr good Theyr good, they noise cancel, easy to use, great sound. There's just a couple of things that prevents me from giving 5 stars. First is theyr constantly connecting to my phone even when theyr in theor case I think they come loose and auto connect especially if theyr in my bag. The seconds no matter what settings I use and I've been all through the help page the earbuds don't seem to like youtube music, it constantly stops. I have no issues with Spotify. I'm not sure if they did this on purpose to make us use Spotify but it's just really annoying. But otherwise theyr comfy, I don't need half the features, im not sure who would. But I enjoy them.

XM4s where I lost a bud somewhere on a ride on my mobility scooter and now after waiting a couple of months these babies arrived 9 hours ago. So nice to have decent sound back again from these and my Sony NW507 player. All very similar to the XM4s with subtle differences that just improve on them. I am an older bloke who doesn't have much mobility and my music is probably the thing that keeps a smile on my dial! Very happy, thanks Sony!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Good Not at what it advertises to be. Poor quality sound, people are always complaining there is noise around me (yes ANC is on); fit is a nightmare to get right; and it randomly gives white noise (ssshhhhh sound) in my ear scaring me. Also, since I can't contact Sony to tell them their website is broken, they say 30 day love it or get a refund, except the form to request the refund is broken :) ... typical big corporation style, no attention to detail, and no quality for anything; just selling cheap products at the lost cost and highest margin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent sound This is my first set of ear buds that I have bought. It was not an easy decision to make with so many different brands to sort through. Sony felt comfortable in my ears compared the others and this is important to me. The sound is exceptional with or without dynamic sound enhancement. I enjoy the tap function you can use to stop, change track and switch of noise cancelling. The noise cancelling works very well, I set mine to switch off when I need to chat and then they return to noise cancel mode automatically. I have nothing negative to say about the WF-1000XM5 ear buds! this is my honest opinion!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from disappointed I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I’m pretty disappointed. Battery left the case and earbuds is not updated in real time, right earbuds won’t seal properly every now and then even with different tips. Transparent mode is awful I have a paid off AirPods 1gen and they are way better than Sony. Touch control not always working and hard to find, clear finish makes them so slippery too. Bluetooth randomly disconnect every now and then. The best thing about the earphones is the quality of the sound in that I have nothing to say but install for the price point I’m kind of disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Great sounding earbuds with impressive noise cancelling. These replaced my previous wireless earbuds, they sound as good as my old Sony headphones and the microphone is better that the old earbuds (but still not great). In a nice compact package, with more than enough battery life for a commute, probably not enough for an overseas flight. Preferred the old style voice describing what mode they were in, rather than having to learn the different chimes. (My older XM3 earbuds are still working, just handed down. Hope these will prove as reliable)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not so great :( Unfortunately these earbuds are not up to the standard I was expecting. I upgraded from my WF-1000XM4 which were pretty much perfect, and these are not as good. The size of the earbud is a fraction smaller than the XM4, which means they are not as good a fit and need constant readjustment to ensure they don't fall out (which they have done a number of times) Using both the provided tips and aftermarket silicon tips don't help as the earbuds don't stay nicely sitting in your ear. Good sound quality, poor design in my opinion :(
