Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better hair and scalp [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the shampoo & conditioner for a week and have seen visible results. I don’t know that you could really review them separately since I feel they complement each other and would be odd to use one without the other. Hair feels and looks good. My wife likes to run her fingers through my hair when we lay on the couch and can confirm this stuff has helped. Scalp is not itchy or flaking. Has a nice fresh and crisp scent. I really like natural ingredients. It makes me feel better that I’m not using any harsh chemicals on my hair and scalp.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shampoo Formula Change Reading the reviews about the shampoo change is quite disappointing. I have used both the new and the old and although the new seems OK I also miss the old formula. I have to say that it’s nice of you to respond to the comments Baxter ... but your response is hollow and no one really cares about the additive of citric acid in your shampoo! I don’t think that was the point for many of us and it seems that the new formula has clearly cheapened the product and our perception of the product!! Perhaps you should keep this new formula if you must but come out with perhaps Baxter Classic Shampoo - it would go along way in improving sales and showing your loyal customers how much you listen and care.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Formula Change I have been a loyal Baxter product customer for some time and loved the "daily fortifying shampoo." Unfortunately, I did not pay careful attention when placing my most recent order. They changed the formula and it no longer contains various ingredients such as "tea tree oil" (among others). The new formula, in my opinion, is just okay and nothing special (let alone worth the price). The prior formula kept my dry scalp (and mild flaking) in check and it felt better while shampooing (more of a tingle). This new formula does neither of these. Yes, the price is now lower for more product, but I really do not care for more of a product that is "nothing special." Sorry, but you've lost a loyal customer

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible formula change The old Daily Protein Shampoo was great, and I'm not sure why you had to go and ruin a good thing. Well, obviously you did it to increase profits. But the new shampoo shares almost nothing in common with the old shampoo, especially not the scent, invigorating sensation, or reasonable price. I've bought the Fortifying Shampoo once since the change, and won't do so again. You'll "share this feedback with the team" or whatever, but you obviously don't mind selling your soul or cheaping out on your products if it means expanding your market base. Oh well! #latestagecapitalism

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No itchiness -- Just clean hair. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an incredibly sensitive scalp. Surprisingly, most sulfate-free "natural" shampoos -- even from luxury brands--irritate it, causing unbearable itchiness. Furthermore, they tend to not clean well. This shampoo not only cleans well, but does so without irritating my scalp. Additionally, the scent is energizing and pleasant. I bought the small size and immediately came back and bought the larger size. That should tell you how much I love it. Buy this shampoo and the corresponding conditioner.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible new change My local barber who I have gone to for years used the protein shampoo and I was sold on it the first time I got a wash there. Just bought more not really paying attention to the labeling etc and on first use noticed an immediate difference. This new product smells and feels like a supermarket shampoo. But costs triple the amount. They have removed all the quality that was good about the original now that they sold out to a big corporation. Sad to see a good quality product disappear. This new product is terrible and not worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bring back the old formulation! Many had asked for the old formulation. Probably some of us are willing to pay double for it. Manufacturing it again can’t be that much more difficult or costly. Please do bring back the old formulation or at the least explain why you cannot offer it anymore. I have not been a customer since this change and will never be unless the old formulation returns.
