Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very bad display/buttons This is easily the worst scale I have ever used. I bought few years ago as a present and since day one the touch panel/display wasn't working properly and it is almost impossible to "zero" the display or change the active scale. It was upsetting and disappointing. I couldn't return it right away and forgot it in the back of the cupboard util few days ago. We needed to weight some yeast and the night before cleaning the kitchen the scale resurfaced. Out of curiosity we tried to use it again to weight some baking ingredients and it was as disappointing as I remembered. It is also clunky and bulky and the overall feeling is plastic/cheap. I wouldn't buy again.

The 10kg capacity of the larger pan is better than any others I considered, while the addition of a smaller pan that weighs in 0.1g increments (!) is invaluable both for baking and <cough> measuring catalysts for fibreglass and silicone moulding - just don't tell the wife. And a 15-year guarantee, you say? Done! Might have been nice to have a mains power option too, but I'm hardly complaining. The H*ston Bl*menthal version might look a tad more chic, but are twice the price. Easy choice!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Inaccurate and only 1 year guarantee in the UK Both scales totally inaccurate. The larger scale registers different weights for the same item., varies by 3g. The smaller scale ditto and varies by 1.7 g. This is a huge amount when wanting 3g of yeast. There is no 15 year guarantee in the UK!!!! This is for Australia and New Zealand only. Salter offer just 1 year in the UK. Contacted Salter, they were not at all interested. Didn't offer a replacement just a refund.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Consistent results, but are they accurate? Positive thoughts:- Only just started to use the scales but my wife loves the ease of use and the consistent results on both scales. She really likes the ability to switch between imperial, metric and fluids. I wondered if the results were accurate so I tried weighing 5g & 20g brass weights. It was the same each time, 5g & 20g on the large scale and 5.1g and 20.1g on small scale. Are my brass weights slightly heavy, or does the small scale need calibration which you cannot adjust? Either way, it's not worth bothering about 0.1g when cooking cakes etc. Negative thoughts:- Colour. We really wanted White or another pale colour, but Black was the only option for these scales. Also the overall size was disappointing as they take up a lot of worktop. Smaller scales were out of stock, or had poor reviews. The price was more than we wanted to pay, but I accept we are effectively buying two scales not one.

Having the two different sized ranges/pads a very good iead, they seem to work well and having checked them with known weights they are within the 1% accuracy claimed. The readout is also good, clear and bright so easy to read and being set over to one side not so easy/likely to become hidden by large containers on the big scale pad.
