Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly with both MacBooks I bought my first 2TB ‘Monterey’ model in September of 2023 and it has been a reliable workhorse for more than a year. I use it with a MacBook Pro for video and photo editing and had no issues. I recently bought a second 2TB in black for personal use to store music, photos and documents and to supplement my storage in a new MacBook Air. Both drives have worked very well and are fast. The Monterey drive has been used many times and has thousands of files on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Appears to be not compatible with M1 Macs I bought two of these. One for an Intel Mac, and one for an M1 Mac. The one connected to the M1 Mac as a Time Machine gives me constant "Disc not ejected properly" errors. (I formatted it to Apple APFS format, as recommended by them). After maybe 4 - 5 hours on the phone with Apple and SanDisc tech support, and trying everything they suggested, SanDisc sent me a replacement unit. Same exact problem. But with the second unit, all I did was format it and hook it up to the Mac. I had no data stored on it, and it was not set up as a Time Machine (in case that was the issue). Within 24 hours I had two "Disc not ejected properly" messages. I have had an HDD hooked up for weeks with no issues, and even tried a SanDisc thumb drive - no issues. It's just the SanDisc SSD. What an incredibly frustrating and time consuming experience.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Reliability Is Worrisome Purchased a 4tb SanDisk Extreme and partitioned it into 2-2tb. Within a year, I was unable to access the Primary partition and if not for my recovery software, I would have lost my entire home video collection. The technology for SSD long-term but frequently accessed files just isn't there yet for consumers to put their trust in. Although fast and easily recognized by PCs, the reliability is worrisome.

I’m trying to get my photos off my iPhone 12Pro Max and I was told to just get a USB Type-C to Lighting Cable, plug & go. Well, needless to say, that’s not the case. Nothing happens and I don’t have a clue what to do!

BUT - I noticed that even when not in use, both drives star VERY HOT - WAY too much energy being expended internally, even with zero activity. This can't be good for either longevity or performance - what gives, Sandisk?

Its compact design and durable build make it perfect for on-the-go data transfers. My experience buying this from Harvey Norman was excellent. The purchase process was smooth. I havent lost any data or anything yet but it seems like it would burn or something I dont use it for long periods of time. But overall very good experience uptil now.

I only used it for Time Machine backup on my Mac during that period, and extremely frustrated this expensive stick didn't even last one year. Now, I can't recover or wipe files stored on that dead stick.
