Don't be deceived by its looks - D functionThis product has been directly responsible for damage to our brand new overhead cabinets because the rangehood suction width is so short it does not cover the full length of the hotplate. Don't be deceived, its actual filter width is so narrow and to the back, that its only 22cm wide compared to a standard hotplate width of over 50cm+. So it is impossible to suck any steam from normal cooking, as more than 50% rise straight above where no rangehood is.
People have probably purchased this based on its sleek and stylish looks, however technically it does not function very well at all.
Suggest for best function look for another that has a slide out to accommodate cooking operations.
Fisher & Paykel were also not helpful and tried to avoid any responsibility. They did inspect a few times and all their reports contradicted each other. The first technician stated oil was the cause of damage, the department then stated that a felxible ducting should not be used (even though the manual stated otherwise) , the 2nd report stated ducting was 'not stretched enough' !! Still installed to compliance but seems strange for F&P to make such petty claims. Will try to upload photos of damage so others can be forewarned.
